Participants will:

  • Define what “good” looks like using role outcomes, competencies, and behaviours

  • Build an interview guide with structured questions and consistent scoring

  • Use behavioural and situational questions to uncover real capability

  • Practise probing and follow up techniques to move beyond rehearsed answers

  • Improve note taking and documentation to support defensible decisions

Interviewing Techniques

Through guided exercises, you will design structured interviews, apply competency based questioning, and practise evaluation methods that reduce subjectivity. Learn best practice for clarity using scoring rubrics, panel alignment, and consistent evidence gathering, so every candidate is assessed fairly and reliably.

Strengthen Skills with Simulation Scenarios

Rehearse real world interviews with coaching and peer feedback. Build confidence and capability using practical scenarios, including:

  • Running an interview from opening to close, including setting expectations and building rapport

  • Probing techniques that surface detail, decision making, and accountability

  • Managing common challenges like nervous candidates, talkers, and vague answers

  • Calibrating scores and making a final decision using evidence, not instinct

  • Communicating outcomes professionally, including constructive candidate feedback
