Crisis management is responding to, managing and recovering from an unforeseen event. Risk management is identifying, assessing and mitigating any event that could cause harm to the business. Risks can be strategic or operational in nature.
Effective risk and crisis management starts from the top. Communication between levels helps to analyse critical risks and monitor status' to key drivers of the business. Management's role in monitoring these risks is to turn these risks into a strategic advantage.
The purpose of the session is to give participants the appropriate tools to prepare and plan for a crisis event and to identify and reduce risk against the organisation.
