The Role
◉ Develop and implement the company’s sales and business development strategy
◉ Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline across SMES, corporates, and public bodies
◉ Respond to opportunities, including tenders, funding applications, and partnerships
◉ Oversee CRM usage and reporting for leads, conversions, and client engagement
◉ Identify new markets and service opportunities for growth
◉ Lead pricing, packaging, and forecasting decisions in collaboration with the director
◉ Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and ensure excellent relationship management
◉ Lead and support internal staff, ensuring alignment, accountability, and development
◉ Handle HR responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
◉ Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment law
◉ Build and maintain a strong network of freelance/contract trainers
◉ Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and quality assurance for all trainers
◉ Coordinate trainer scheduling, briefings, and support resources
◉ Collect and respond to client and learner feedback for continuous improvement
◉ Collaborate on strategic planning, marketing, and product development
◉ Represent the company at events, meetings, and within local business networks
Requirements
◉ Proven experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership
◉ Strong background in people management and HR practices
◉ Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
◉ Experience managing or coordinating external contractors (e.g., trainers, consultants)
◉ Understanding of the professional training or education sector (preferred)
◉ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
◉ Experience using CRM systems and tracking commercial KPIs
◉ Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver hands-on execution
◉ Knowledge of funding mechanisms like Skillnet or ETBs is a plus
Education & Experience
◉ Minimum 7+ years’ experience in a senior sales, commercial, or leadership role — ideally in a service-based business
◉ Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing people, and building high-performing, values-driven cultures
◉ Strong background in business development, client relationship management, and driving commercial results
◉ Proven ability to manage external stakeholders or contractor networks, such as freelance trainers or consultants
◉ A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification is essential — preferably in business, management, HR, or a related discipline
◉ Further qualifications in leadership, coaching, or organisational development would be a distinct advantage
Compensation
