What certification will I get?
Upon successful completion of our course and the associated assessments, you will receive a QQI Level 6 Award in Effective People Management.
QQI, Quality and Qualifications Ireland, is the national agency responsible for qualifications and quality assurance in further education and training and higher education in Ireland. All QQI Awards are mapped to the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and, as they can then be mapped to many international qualification frameworks, they are highly regarded, both nationally and internationally.
Assessments Overview
Once you have attended our QQI Effective People Management course, there are a number of assessments you must complete in order to gain your certification. You have six weeks after the course ends to submit your assessments and our trainers and support team are here at every stage to help you achieve the best possible result.
There are three assessments as part of the course: a Project and two essay-based assessments, a Learner Record, and an Assignment.
Assessments: Project
The project is designed to allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the People Management Cycle under various topics which you will learn during the course and how they can apply to your real work as a manager. It should discuss the importance of each element of the cycle as well as the associated competencies required for each element.
Ideally, the project should be relevant to your current or previous work as a manager, supported by a bit of your own research. The project is worth 50% of your final grade and should be between 2,500 - 3,000 words.
Assessments: Learner Record & Essay
The essay-based assessment is a 1,500 to 2,000-word piece that asks you to discuss what you’ve learned from the course, how well you really understand what you’ve learned, and how you can apply this learning in a real-world management situation. This assessment is worth 20% of your final mark.
The Learner Record is a 1,500-word reflective learner record that asks you to reflect on how you feel about the course. What did completing this training mean to you and, more importantly, how this training is going to change your role as a Manager or Supervisor going forward. This assessment is worth 30% of your final mark.
Certification Process Overview
Once the assignments have been submitted, they are internally marked and externally verified. Your results are then issued to QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) to be certified. However, once your results have been verified, we can give you a copy of your provisional results.
You should have your provisional results within two months, and your certificate within 3/4 months.
If you need proof of completion of this course before receiving your results, for a job interview, for example, we can provide this to you in the form of a letter detailing that you attended our course, submitted the assessments, and also confirming your provisional results.
Is the certification recognised by HIQA?
The Health Information and Quality Authority is an independent authority established to drive high-quality and safe care for people using our health and social care services in Ireland. HIQA’s role is to develop standards, inspect and review health and social care services and support informed decisions on how services are delivered.
Is the Effective People Management Certification Recognised by HIQA?
HIQA has stated that there are no specific requirements from them to attend any Management course in particular. It is up to each individual centre, hospital, or clinic to assess whether they believe if the training is suitable for members of their team.
We have had attendees gain approval for the course from HIQA, including members of the HSE and Aras Attracta.
