To improve your lean techniques and understanding of Lean we introduce a number of fun interactive games.
People are so much more willing to challenge working practices in a simulated environment and are quick to identify waste in the system. This provides ideal foundations for starting to challenge and find opportunities in their own areas of work. In this post, we'll talk about the "Plug Factory" game.
Plug Factory
To improve your lean techniques and understanding of Lean we introduce a number of fun interactive games. People are so much more willing to challenge working practices in a simulated environment and are quick to identify waste in the system. This provides ideal foundations for starting to challenge and find opportunities in their own areas of work.
The Plug Game is a manufacturing simulation based on assembling 3 pin plugs, it is ideal for business process improvement training to demonstrate the layout, push/pull, one-piece flow, kanban, work balance and the benefits of training.
Learning Objectives
The aim of the game is to understand how batch sizes affect lead time and work in progress (WIP).
You will demonstrate the effect of layout and workplace organisational improvement and also the idea of “Kanban”.
You will interactively learn to introduce the concept of “takt” time to carry out line balancing and demonstrate the purpose of measurement in the improvement processes whilst demonstrating and implementing improvements through a teamwork approach.
