QQI Project Management - Course Overview
Our QQI Level 6 Project Management Course is designed to give learners a fast track introduction to the skills that are required to work effectively while managing or overseeing projects in the workplace.
This four day course is very practical and interactive. All the core Project Management skills are covered including planning, managing and closing projects; risk management; resource and scope planning; quality control; leadership techniques.
The course is highly interactive and utilises real life insights and practical everyday business examples. This course is focused on exploring the fundamental principles of successful project management and incorporates a number of easy to apply, effective tools and techniques that will allow the learners to become more confident and competent in managing a project.
Our Project Management Course has been designed to be in line with the QQI Level 6 certification and each of our trainers has a qualification in project management with years of industry experience.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course each learner will be able to:
- Examine the key principles and concepts underpinning project management
- Investigate a range of approaches to plan, cost and manage a project
- Communicate project management planning operations
- Examine monitoring and evaluation techniques for a project
- Devise a risk analysis for a project to include the preparation of a contingency plan
- Evaluate the methodology and process of a selected project
- Utilise financial planning and budget models within the context of managing a project
- Manage a project taking corrective action where necessary to meet agreed goals
Who usually attends the course?
As there are no prerequisites to meet before attending, our QQI Level 6 Project Management course is suitable to people of all backgrounds. We have had learners from all different roles, levels of experience and backgrounds who have attended our course in the past and who have found it to be invaluable in their everyday roles as well as in the career progression.
From people who are currently working as Project Managers and who are looking to gain a formal certification to match their skillset, to those who have realised that the skill set required to work as an effective and successful project Manager is not like any other role. What is covered in the training?
Our DCM Learning Expert Project Management Trainers take a very considered and strategic approach to delivering this training course. As the skill set necessary to be an effective Project Manager is so varied, we typically split the course into two, two-and-a half day phases. The first phase covers the entire Project Management Process from beginning to end. The second phase will teach you all of the people management skills you will need to be successful in this role.

Do I Need Experience to Attend the Course?
Our QQI Project Management course is an accredited, very well regarded entry level project management certification which requires no prior project management experience. There are also no prerequisites which you must meet before you can attend.
During this four day course, you will learn many practical tools, techniques and processes for managing projects, regardless of your field or area of business. With relevant examples for any industry, we will explain why project management is so beneficial to these sectors and how to go about implementing project management tools in the real world.
What are the career opportunities after completing the course?
Once you have gained your Project Management Certification, there are infinite career opportunities for you to explore. Project Managers are invaluable team members in countless industries such as engineering and construction, IT/ software, manufacturing and aviation.
