Why did you choose to do a course at this time?
I chose to do this course as it interested me from a personal and professional perspective. A lot of my work involves ensuring we have cross-functional and consensus-based decision making and I facilitate a process whereby realistic and sustainable agreements are made for future plans. I have worked in mediated settings before and these experiences sparked an interest in me in this subject. Coupled with this is the benefit to my personal development and in turn for my company.

How did you find the course?
The course was brilliant. Excellently delivered by Andrew Gibson, understandable and relatable content with real opportunity to take it at your own pace and pause for thought during or after modules. The support DCM and Andrew gave throughout the course was exceptional.
What advice would you give to a new learner?
Take your time, set a learning schedule of what module(s) you will complete and when you will complete them. Reach out to DCM and tutors when needed and enjoy it. Learning and development will support your career but will also boost your morale and personal life.
Since completing the course, what have you done or have you progressed?
My approach is different. Facilitating often conflicting positions can be a real challenge. I have found that taking a different angle, listening more, remaining neutral and positively encouraging participants has lead to more unified agreements that will last. Having dipped my toe, it has also encouraged me to look into more education and growth.
